Felger Leonard, Bern

Dear colleagues

I am writing to express my interest in candidacy for the presidency of SYNS 2027-2029. I am a fifth-year resident at the Department of Neurosurgey at Inselspital in Bern. I completed medical school in Basel in 2020, earned my doctorate in Bern and have been working in Bern since 2022 after initial surgical training in Davos and Basel.

I believe that SYNS serves as a central platform for young Swiss neurosurgeons—not only academically but also socially, which is why I would be honored to further strengthen this format. I would like to support the organization of courses and networking opportunities as well as to represent our interests within the Swiss Society of Neurosurgery.

Furthermore, I care deeply about a solid, surgically oriented residency training and would like to continue supporting SYNS to achieve this goal.

As the current organizer of the SYNS craniotomy course, I already bring some experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing educational events. I would be delighted to contribute these organizational skills to further strengthen the activities of SYNS.

I kindly ask you to consider my candidacy

Yours sincerely

Fischer Marc, Luzern

Dear SYNS members, dear colleagues,

I hereby apply for the position of President of the Swiss Young Neurosurgical Society.

Since starting my neurosurgical training in 2024, I have already participated in three SYNS courses and two SYNS symposia. These events have not only provided me with excellent learning opportunities but also enabled valuable exchanges with colleagues as well as representatives from the industry. What I particularly appreciate is the development of a strong network that has accompanied me ever since.

My personal career path includes studies at the University of Bern and completing a year in general surgery at Spital Interlaken. Afterwards, I began my neurosurgical training at the Department of Neurosurgery at Klinik Hirslanden in Zurich. Since the beginning of this year, I have been continuing this training at Luzerner Kantonsspital. Through my experience I have had the opportunity to discover two different neurosurgical institutions with their respective philosophies.

It would be a great pleasure and honor for me to take on the responsibility as President of SYNS.

I would like to continue the successful development of our society, bring in new ideas, and actively contribute to shaping its positioning within the Swiss Society of Neurosurgery on key issues.

Thank you very much for your trust.

Sivanrupan Sivani, Bern

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to submit my candidacy for the leadership of our young neurosurgeons’ association for the 2027–2029 term.

Over the past years, I have had the privilege of growing within our professional community. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration, openness, and a shared vision to shape the future of neurosurgery in Switzerland and beyond.

I would be honored to contribute to our association by fostering new opportunities for connection and education, and by ensuring that our voices as young neurosurgeons continue to be heard and valued. I am particularly passionate about building inclusive platforms where members from all backgrounds can engage meaningfully and feel represented.

I am currently a neurosurgical resident at Inselspital Bern, with a special interest in neuro-oncological surgery.

Outside the OR, I enjoy running, traveling, and reading. I have always been drawn to team-oriented initiatives that bring people together.

I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to serve as president and contribute to the continued growth and success of our association.

Regards

STAY TUNED!
